Thin Fluids Diet – Day 4

What a lovely weekend it’s been in Sydney... It’s been a great weekend to get out and do things even though I’m still a little tender… This morning I went down for my regular coffee (and regular size) while I read the papers, It was nice except the first one they made for some reason they put sugar in YUK! The replacement tasted much better and I sat on it for an hour while I read both papers.

Once I got home it was back to the normal chores of washing… The bending was fine, and I didn’t feel the port so it must be getting better. Afterwards it was time to give the herbs and tomatoes some TLC. Now they’ve been in for a month… The some are coming along well and others not so well (especially when the dog decides to water the coriander for me)… after watching Better Homes on Friday night, I thought I’d try the sugar cane mulch not only on the tomatoes, but the herbs as well and then gave them all a good water with thrive… so it will be good to see how they go in the next week.

I’ve also spent some time clearing a backlog of shows on the TiVo too, between doing things so as not to overdo it...

Today has been a bit better with my fluids too… I just need to remember to record what I have had…

So far I’ve had today:

Berocca
Regular Coffee (380ml)
250ml Vanilla Optifast Shake with Benefibre
300ml Glass of water
250ml Homemade Chicken Stock/Broth
300ml glass water

And strangely enough I’m not feeling hungry, and also not having any reflux problems or wanting to bring it back up which is good… The Gas had gone too with the degas capsules - even though I was a bit hesitant they’ve gone down OK because they are so small...

Today I changed to Benefibre from the Prune juice in the hope that that might assist in the No 2's department... I havent been there since Wednesday morning before the operation.

The normally I’ve still got another Optifast shake, soup, juice and drinking yoghurt to go , and maybe even another cup of water… and that is keeping me satisfied… Why did I need all that food before?

The port area is a little tender but from what I can see through the dressings, it all seems to be healling OK… The port area has a little dip inwards but have spoken to the Doctor and he said it should be OK… I guess we’ll see when the dressings come off on Wednesday. I’ve also got a little cough with some phlegm occasionally coming up, but a pillow on the stomach helps there when I cough, and occasionally have tightness on the top of my chest that comes and goes…

Anyway, I’m off for another walk… I went a little further yesterday so will try and do the same today… I really starting to enjoy it again – especially now I’m carrying a sack of potatoes less with me

Until next time…
